Starting A Web Design Business And Leaving Your Job For Good

Let's face it, working for the man sucks right? It's no doubt more and more people are venturing out and starting a web design business, and why not, the demand is certainly there. More and more business owners understand the importance of online business, and are constantly seeking out developers to help them brand their businesses on the internet.

I'll be honest, 6 years ago I had a great job. It was a government job, and whilst it was a little boring, the money was great. I was earning almost $80,000 a year. But still, I was unhappy. Why? Because I knew deep down that It wasn't what I really wanted to do. For me, I loved doing web design. I couldn't imagine anything better than doing something that I loved and getting paid for it!

It was almost 8 years ago to this day, that I arrived at work, as usual, having sat in traffic for an hour, to find myself sitting at my desk wondering why on earth I did this every day? I was miserable. Not only was I being subjected to office gossip, but the boring meetings were doing my head in. On top of that, I had a boss with no people skills who used to smell of cigarette smoke all the time.

He would walk into the office and interrupt us working, and talk about anything and everything for hours on end. Then wonder why we were always behind?

In the end I grew tired of the same mundane repetitive work days and handed in my resignation.

At the time I was extremely worried. Because I knew I had no idea of what I was doing, but I was absolutely certain that I definitely didnt want to be sitting at that desk any longer.

As it turned out, I did very well and manage to grow my business to the point of being able to hire others, who now work for me. I just hope they don't dislike me as much as I disliked my old boss!

Starting a web design business was the best decision I ever made, I'm absolutely loving my life now, and enjoying every minute of my work.
