Starting a web design business
may seem like a great idea, but have you taken into consideration
other aspects of your life, such as relationships, finance
and even your residency? These things may sound irrelevant,
but let me tell you, it's important that you are certain that
everything in your life accommodates the big changes that
lay ahead with your new found business venture.
When I started my web design business, I was very fortunate.
I had people around me that were very supportive, and that
gave me the confidence I needed to move forward. Not only
was I lucky enough to have supportive people around me, but
I was also in a transitional period of my life that provided
great flexibility. I was single, had very few debts, I was
in a share house situation and really had no other obligations.
These factors, in hindsight, I believe helped contribute towards
my level of success.
Why? Because I remained focused. I wasn't distracted with
other commitments.
I wasn't worried about having to balance work or family, or
repaying debts or any of that. I was lucky. Infact to be honest,
I had subconciously worked towards positioning myself in preparation
to start my own business, so it wasn't just "luck".
I understand that everyone's situation is different, that's
only normal. But seriously, give it a bit of thought before
you jump right in. External factors play a big part in the
overall success of your business. You certainly dont want
to fail simply because the timing wasn't right due to other
commitments or distractions. You want to ensure you are able
to dedicate yourself to your new found business with 100%
commitment.
Starting a web design business, is a fun, exciting time in
your life. Enjoy it!
